Nagpur: Specially abled children delivered powerful performances at the 32nd Orange City Craft Mela, organised by the South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) on Tuesday.The opening segment, ‘Divyarang Divyangache’, presented by Ashadeep Foundation, featured 33 children in a vibrant cultural showcase. The programme began with a spirited dance to ‘Deva Shree Ganesha’, followed by ‘Shivgarjana’, a theatrical act staged by students from a school for the hearing and speech impaired.The repertoire included songs such as ‘Hich Amuchi Prarthana’, ‘Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se’, ‘Jai Jai Shiv Shankar’, and ‘Chhoo Kar Mere Man Ko’, along with a remix rap performance.Later, Delhi-based vocalist Priyanka Gaharwar presented ‘Folk Music & Bhajans’, opening with a Ganesh Vandana. Her set traversed folk traditions of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, featuring sohar, sanskar, and virah compositions, as well as Kabir bhajans. She also performed Ram bhajans in Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Awadhi, accompanied by tabla, keyboard, and guitar.On Wednesday, the line-up includes Kabir Gayan by Mukesh Chauhan, followed by folk dances of Maharashtra by transgender artistes. The fair will continue till April 5, with daily performances scheduled at 6.30pm.
