Kanpur: Raipurwa Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Center will soon get a full time veterinary doctor soon.The primary objective of the SPCA is to prevent cruelty to animals and to make the arrangements for the protection and treatment of injured, sick, and destitute animals effective.During the review meeting, district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh issued instructions for the appointment of a full-time veterinarian at the SPCA Center. He directed that the selection process be completed and the appointment ensured within the next 15 days.It was stated in the meeting that a total of 252 animals and birds of various species have been treated at SPCA Raipurwa. These include 76 dogs, 97 bovines, 8 horses, 2 buffaloes, 25 kites, 21 pigeons, 3 vultures, 3 peacocks, one owl, 2 langurs, 6 monkeys, 3 cats, and 5 egrets.The district magistrate directed that the SPCA Center be kept under CCTV surveillance. He instructed that the entry of unauthorized persons into the center be prevented to ensure the safety of the animals housed there for treatment and care. Regular monitoring of the center’s activities via CCTV should also be carried out. He directed that the SPCA Center be kept under CCTV surveillance.
