Colva: South Goa sessions court judge Sharmila Patil ordered that charges be framed against five accused in connection with the alleged abduction and gangrape of a mentally challenged woman.Mohammed Adil, 18, of Chicalim; Mohammed Ali Mulla, 22, of Mangor Hill; Shahzad Shaikh, 18, of Khariwada; Mohammed Yasir, 18, of Bogda; and Viresh Aguanda, 18, of Gandhi Nagar, allegedly sexually assaulted the survivor in Jan 2025.The prosecution alleges that Adil befriended the mentally unsound woman and lured her away from the KTC bus stand in Margao. He then allegedly abducted her and, along with the four co-accused, took her to a flat in Cansaulim.The charges further state that the accused allegedly subjected the woman to repeated sexual assault, with each of them engaging in sexual intercourse with her in succession, thereby committing gangrape by exploiting her vulnerable mental condition.The court directed that charges be framed against all five accused, paving the way for the commencement of the trial.
