New Delhi: As conversations around technology, entrepreneurship and social transformation gather momentum across country, educational institutions are emerging as important platforms where youth can engage with India’s development goals. In this spirit, the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect programme, a flagship initiative of ministry of youth affairs and sports, seeks to connect young citizens with the broader vision of a developed India. Don Bosco Institute of Technology hosted the programme on Tuesday, bringing together students and educators for a discussion on the country’s future. The programme features interactive sessions where students reflect on their nation-building roles and the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. Delhi’s education minister Ashish Sood called on young people to actively participate in shaping the nation’s future. “A nation is built not only by govt but by resolve, efforts and responsibility of its youth,” he said. “Amrit Kaal @2047 is the time when the Amrit Peedhi will transform the dreams of independence into reality of development”, he added. The initiative is coordinated through the MY Bharat digital platform, which hosts workshops, seminars and debates in schools and colleges to foster leadership, civic awareness, and active participation in the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. Students and young citizens are encouraged to register on the MY Bharat portal and actively participate in youth-led initiatives and programmes across the country. “This is not merely a formal event but a centre of energy that will shape the future of the nation and give rise to a new wave of transformation. Students are not just learners in an institute but the architects and builders of a developed India who will play a crucial role in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047,” Sood said. The programme was also held at Netaji Subhas University of Technology on Tuesday, aiming to empower and connect the youth of India, encouraging them to actively contribute towards building a progressive and developed India by 2047.
