Sonipat: Sonipat police have launched a special district-wide crackdown against vehicles fitted with illegal black films, dark or invisible sunshades, tampered High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs), and those misusing temporary registration numbers.As part of the drive, traffic police teams, along with other field units, are conducting intensive vehicle inspections at multiple locations across the district. Violators will face stringent action under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, including monetary penalties and, where warranted, impoundment of vehicles.Sonipat deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Narendra Kadyan urged motorists to immediately remove illegal black films and dark or invisible sunshades from their vehicles and ensure full compliance with statutory norms. He also advised vehicle owners against any misuse of temporary registration numbers and stressed adherence to the prescribed registration timelines.The officer said the police have observed that some motorists continue to use temporary registration plates despite their permanent HSRPs being available with the designated agencies.
