Mysuru: Union minister of state for railways V Somanna on Saturday criticised the state govt over its response to the Railway Board’s decision to transfer the Mangaluru railway area from the Palakkad division of Southern Railway to the Mysuru division of South Western Railway from Oct 1.Speaking to reporters in Mysuru, Somanna alleged that the state govt had failed to acknowledge the Centre’s decision and claimed that it was reluctant to do so due to political considerations involving Kerala. Railway Board had ordered the transfer of the Mangaluru area up to Ullal to Mysuru division.He also criticised the state cabinet’s first meeting in Mangaluru, describing it as an exercise lacking substance. Somanna accused the Congress govt of making promises without adequate financial backing and alleged that chief minister DK Shivakumar and other leaders were making statements without corresponding action. He also accusing the Congress of pursuing vote-bank politics.
