Jaipur: The state govt Monday increased the monthly social security pension to Rs 1,450, strengthening financial support for more than 91 lakh beneficiaries across the state. The announcement was made in the Budget 2026-27.Officials said the pension amount was Rs 1,000 per month in 2024, which was increased to Rs 1,150 and then to Rs 1,250 in 2025. In Jan this year, it was raised to Rs 1,300 per month, and now it had further been increased to Rs 1,450 per month.The pension currently benefits over 91 lakh people, including senior citizens, widows and single women, persons with disabilities, and small and marginal farmers. The govt has also adopted Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to ensure transparent and timely payment of pensions. The pension amount is directly transferred to beneficiaries’ Jan Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.Officials said the pension system is digitised to make the process easier for applicants. The entire process, including application, approval and payment, is online and paperless, allowing eligible beneficiaries to apply through mobile applications or e-Mitra centres.The govt has also simplified the annual verification process for pension beneficiaries. Verification can now be done through biometric authentication, mobile apps, or OTP-based systems.
