Jhunjhunu: Khetri town in Jhunjhunu remained completely shut Monday following a call by Khetri Jan Seva Samiti, which received support from the traders’ association and vegetable market traders, to protest against the “dictatorial attitude” of Khetri Trust. Police force was deployed in the town during the shutdown, which received widespread public support.Khetri Jan Seva Samiti office-bearer Gokulchand Saini said the Khetri Trust had blocked the road to Bhopalgarh, as well as the route to the temple of Rasik Mohan Das Ji Maharaj. He said the manner in which the trust tried to intimidate residents of Khetri was against local traditions and social harmony.

Saini said the people of the town would unite to protect their heritage and religious faith. He warned that if the matter was not resolved soon, the agitation would be intensified.
