Shimla: Light snowfall in the higher reaches and rain in parts of the mid and low hills marked the weather in Himachal Pradesh on Monday, even as the Met department forecast clear skies for the next two days.It snowed in the high-altitude areas of Lahaul Spiti and on mountain passes, including Rohtang Pass. Light snowfall was also recorded at the Atal Tunnel. Light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, was recorded in parts of Kullu and Mandi districts on Monday evening. Hailstorms were also reported in parts of the state.According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, Una recorded the highest maximum temperature of 29.4°C — 0.7°C below normal, and Tabo in Lahaul Spiti recorded the lowest minimum temperature of -0.4°C on Monday.Una was followed by Neri with a maximum temperature of 27.1°C, Kangra 26.4°C, Mandi 25.6°C, Sundernagar 25.5°C, Berthin 25.4°C, Bhuntar 25.3°C, Nahan 25.1°C, and Seobagh 24.2°C.Among the tourist destinations, Dharamshala was the warmest with a maximum temperature of 23°C, followed by Kasauli 19°C, Shimla 18.5°C, and Manali 16.5°C.Meanwhile, the weather department predicted clear and dry weather on March 24 and 25, and thunderstorms and gusty winds in parts of the state on March 26.
