Noida: A six-year-old girl suffered a leg fracture after a car allegedly being driven at high speed hit her outside her home in Greater Noida’s Sector Chi-4 on Friday. She was waiting for her father to drop her at school when the accident occurred.The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Beta-2 police station, and CCTV footage of the accident has since surfaced. Police said an FIR was registered on Saturday based on her father’s complaint. They took the driver, Dharmendra, into custody.According to the complaint, the girl’s father, Ram Vilas Dayaram, lives in Janta Flats in Chi-4 with his family. On Friday morning, he was preparing to accompany his six-year-old daughter, Janvi, to school. The girl was standing outside their home when a car allegedly driven by Dharmendra, a resident of Sigma-1, approached the area.The driver allegedly failed to slow down and hit the child. The impact knocked the girl onto the road, leaving her with serious injuries to her leg. Family members and other residents rushed to the spot after the incident and took the child to a hospital for treatment.Doctors confirmed that she suffered a fracture in her leg. She is currently undergoing treatment at Mahanand Hospital, according to the family.CCTV footage from the area, which has surfaced after the incident, shows the car approaching the child before she is struck. Police said the footage and other available evidence would be examined as part of the investigation.Residents said that some motorists continue to drive at high speeds through the society’s internal roads, raising concerns over pedestrian safety.Beta-2 police station in charge Vinod Kumar said an FIR was registered against the car driver under relevant sections based on the complaint submitted by the girl’s father. Police said further action would be taken after examining the CCTV footage and other evidence related to the accident.
