Mangaluru: Six men from Jammu and Kashmir have been booked under the NDPS Act for allegedly consuming ganja after they were found behaving suspiciously near a hotel in Mangaluru on Aug 4.Sheethal Alagur from Mangaluru North police station, who was on patrol duty noticed six people walking unsteadily, and stopped and questioned them. They struggled to speak clearly, with slurred speech and a strong odour on their breath. Upon further questioning, they reportedly admitted to having consumed ganja. The individuals identified themselves as Junaid Ahmad Gujjar, 19, Mohammad Abeed Gojar Komshi, 21, Sajad Ahmad Kataria, 23, Mok Malli Komshi, 19, Istayaq Ah Khan, 21, Jahan Jar Ahmad Tas, 29, Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir.To ascertain whether they had consumed ganja, the six were brought to the police station and subsequently taken to a private hospital, for medical examination. Following the examination, doctors issued certificates confirming that all six had consumed ganja. Mangaluru North police registered a case.
