Dumka: Railway police have recovered approximately 2 kg of silver ornaments, two country-made pistols (desi katta), two country-made revolvers, and live cartridges from a train arriving from Jamalpur at Deoghar railway station late on Tuesday during a routine search.Providing details of the recovery on Wednesday, RPF inspector Shiv Shankar Kumar and Deoghar station master Dinkar Jha stated that during a patrol, police found an unattended bag from the Deoghar Jamalpur passenger train, containing these items.Upon initiating an investigation, no one claimed responsibility for the bag. After questioning passengers and vendors at length, no leads emerged prompting the RPF personnel to seize the entire consignment and transport it to the railway station police post, they said.The seized silver items are valued at around Rs 3-4 lakh, while the arms are estimated at Rs 1 lakh. “The items have been handed over to the local police station for further action,” said an RPF officer.
