New Delhi: A 32-year-old sub inspector died by suicide using his service pistol Monday at Madhu Vihar police station, where he was posted.Around 12.20pm, after a gunshot was heard, it was found that Somesh had taken the extreme step. He had met the station house officer and informed him that he was leaving for court duty. However, he never reached court.“Shortly before he died, he had called his father to tell him that he couldn’t take it anymore and then he locked himself inside,” a senior officer said.His wife had come to see him. “She claimed that he was suffering from depression,” he said. Police suspect no foul play. A senior cop added that no medicines or suicide note were found at the spot.The victim had joined Delhi Police in 2019. He was working in East district for the last three years.
