Palanpur: A 35-year-old shop owner was arrested for allegedly attempting to sexually assault an eight-year-old girl who had gone to his shop to buy biscuits in Vadinath Na Muvada village of Aravalli’s Malpur taluka.Police said the accused, Nana Raman Khant, allegedly took the girl by force to a nearby hill and attempted to sexually assault her. However, he reportedly got scared and let the child go, warning her not to tell anyone at home and threatening to kill her if she did.The frightened girl later told her mother about the incident. Based on her complaint, Malpur police registered a case against Khant for kidnapping and attempted sexual assault.“Police formed separate teams and arrested the accused within a few hours of the incident,” said Aravalli DSP Manoharsinh Jadeja.
