Kanpur: Samajwadi Party general secretary Shivpal Yadav on Friday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-led govt of failing to ensure adequate electricity and irrigation water. He said that people across sections were troubled.While talking to reporters in Etawah, Yadav alleged that BJP had come to power through lies and dishonesty. He alleged irregularities in ‘SIR’ and deletion of votes through fraudulent means, adding that the public would respond at the appropriate time.Yadav said that while 22 to 24 hours of electricity was promised, many areas were getting only 15 hours of electricity. Consumers have to face rising bills despite inadequate supply, he said. He said that canals lacked water and tube wells remained shut because of the electricity shortage, causing difficulties in irrigating farms.Yadav claimed that Samajwadi Party would form the next govt and said that development work would be accelerated if govt was formed under the leadership of SP national president Akhilesh Yadav.
