Shimla: Shimla police have made a major breakthrough in their ongoing anti-drug campaign by arresting a key supplier, Sanjay alias Ganji, of an inter-state chitta (heroin) trafficking network from Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh.The FIR, registered at Kumarsain police station on March 12 under the NDPS Act, involved the seizure of 12.36 grams of chitta. Initial arrests included three individuals: Rahul Larju (27) and Shubham Khanna (31) from Himachal Pradesh, and Vikas Minz (26) from Odisha.During the investigation, police traced the backward linkages of the network, identifying Sanjay alias Ganji as the chief supplier. Acting swiftly, Shimla police apprehended him in Chandigarh.The arrest could provide critical information about the inter-state drug supply network. The police officials emphasised that their campaign against drugs would continue rigorously and urged the public to report any drug-related activities to help free society from the menace of narcotics.
