Panaji: Sesa Football Academy striker Shiva Kumar has been selected for the India U-15 boys national team trials as the All India Football Federation (AIFF) attempts to put together a strong team for the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival 2026 in Azerbaijan.Kumar, who was previously selected for the AIFF FIFA Talent Academy (U-15) in 2025, has continued to make progress at the national level.Meanwhile, Sesa Football Academy (SFA) has been awarded the AIFF Three-Star Academy Accreditation for 2026-27 for the second time. The accreditation recognises academies meeting national standards in player development, coaching, infrastructure, governance and football operations.Established in 1999, SFA, the flagship CSR initiative of Vedanta Iron and Steel Ltd, has had 14 players represent India internationally. Its teams played 188 competitive matches over the past year, while its Sirsaim ground hosted 113 matches.
