The person assured help and asked him to type a UPI ID in his UPI app. Khan suspected something foul and disconnected the call. But within minutes, he got a WhatsApp call, and the caller convinced him that he would help in getting the refund.Khan then typed the UPI ID given by the caller, who then asked him to type the last five digits of his mobile number. The caller then asked him to enter his PIN, which resulted in Rs 81,360 being debited from his bank account. Khan then approached Gorwa police and filed a complaint.
