Mysuru: Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) director Parikshat Singh Manhas on Monday underlined the role of education in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat-2047. He said education must adapt to a rapidly changing world through technology, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning.Speaking at the launch of a two-day national seminar on ‘Transforming Education for the Future: Intelligent, Inclusive & Immersive Learning’ at B N Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences (BIMS), Manasagangotri, he stressed the importance of human element in the age of AI and said the value of technology depends on the human mind behind it.CEC, in collaboration with the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC), University of Mysore, hosted the event.Manhas also outlined five guiding values for learners: adaptability, empathy, integrity, opportunities, and universalism. He said these qualities are essential in a connected, technology-driven world. He also pointed to the gap between academic training and industry needs, and said CEC developed eight online degree programmes, with more in social sciences and humanities in progress.The seminar brought together academicians, policymakers, media professionals, faculty members, research scholars, and students from across the country to discuss the changing landscape of education in the context of emerging technologies.University of Mysore vice-chancellor N K Lokanath said education remains a powerful tool for social transformation. He also highlighted the relevance of the seminar theme amid rapid technological change. He emphasised independent learning, mentorship, and the role of AI and data analytics in enhancing the teaching and learning process.
