Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday highlighted the Rajasthan Semiconductor Policy 2026, aimed at positioning the state as a key player in the global semiconductor industry and boosting investment, jobs and innovation.Launched in Jan this year, the policy focuses on attracting investments in Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT), Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging (ATMP), and sensor manufacturing. It seeks to promote domestic production while creating high-skilled employment. Sharma said the policy envisions a complete semiconductor ecosystem, spanning research, design, manufacturing, testing and packaging. As part of this, the Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar belt and Kankani industrial area will be developed as semiconductor hubs with fast-track infrastructure, including land, power, water and connectivity. The govt also plans to set up semiconductor parks and strengthen the fabless design ecosystem to support innovation and startups. To attract investors, the policy offers incentives such as 100% electricity duty exemption for seven years, 75% rebate on stamp duty and land conversion charges, and 25% reimbursement on select costs. Projects approved under the India Semiconductor Mission will get up to 60% capital subsidy and 5% interest subsidy on term loans. The policy also emphasises sustainability, offering up to 50% reimbursement for environmental projects and incentives for renewable energy use, including full electricity duty exemption for seven years for eligible units.
