BENGALURU: CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke on Thursday invoked Adolf Hitler while attacking the government’s ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, alleging that the intention behind the slogan was “one nation one party” and comparing it to Hitler’s political rule.“Attempts are being made how to destroy institutions of India. One nation, one election is slogan. But the intention is one nation one party. And that intention was of Hitler. Want to ask PM Narendra Modi to see what happen to Hitler. He had to shoot himself,” Dipke said during the protest.Dipke also accused PM Modi and the Election Commission of “murdering democracy and vote theft”, alleging that voter deletions under the SIR were aimed at disenfranchising those opposed to the BJP.“We will hit the streets, reclaim democracy and continue agitation till the CEC resigns,” he added.Dipke, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee and actor-activist Prakash Raj participated in the protest, where demonstrators demanded the scrapping of the SIR exercise and the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.Protesters from various walks of life, including women and students, gathered at Freedom Park and raised slogans against the SIR exercise and the Election Commission.Posters at the protest carried slogans including “Error 404 – Name Not Found”, “It’s done bro, resign sir” and “Don’t erase us, hear us”.Other slogans raised by protesters included “Dictatorship will not be tolerated”, “vote theft” and “Gyanesh Kumar Gaddi leave your chair.”Posters featuring freedom fighters Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose were also displayed, along with one reading “Grand Theft Democracy.”According to the organisers, the protest was held as a people’s tribunal for alleged victims of SIR from across Karnataka and will be followed by a “Chappal protest” in solidarity with women.Rathee alleged there was “zero transparency and zero accountability from the EC” over the SIR exercise. “I have not come here for regime change,” he said.Prakash Raj demanded that the SIR exercise be scrapped, alleging that it was not merely about deletion of votes but an attack on the dignity and rights of citizens. He also alleged that CEC Gyanesh Kumar is “acting at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.”A Bengaluru-based software engineer, said, “It is our democratic right. We have been robbed of our right to vote. We have to be together to save democracy, because I have lost my own vote.”He alleged that his name had been deleted from the electoral rolls and said he did not know who had submitted the Form-7 application seeking deletion of his name.
