Times News NetworkKanpur: A 55-year-old security guard, injured in a robbery at a chemical factory in Panki Industrial Area late on Monday night, died during treatment on Tuesday. His wife, who suffered serious head injuries, remains under treatment at a private hospital, police said.After Amarnath Vishwakarma’s post-mortem on Wednesday, the police said a murder charge would be added to the robbery and attempted murder case against Faizal, Deepak Gupta and Vishal Awasthi. The three accused were arrested from Barra and sent to jail on Tuesday.The assailants entered Rajeev Verma’s Sunrise Chemical Factory late Monday and struck Amarnath on the head with a hammer in the early hours of Tuesday. They allegedly took his mobile phone and Verma’s laptop. They also attacked Amarnath’s wife, Kaushalya, with an iron rod and took her ear ornaments, nose pin, mobile phone and Rs 1,000 before fleeing. Her son Rohan said the assailants tore her ears while snatching the ornaments.Originally from Budhawa Hisaramuddin Purwa in Azamgarh, Amarnath had been working, looking after the factory for 30 years.Kaushalya had arrived to stay with him last Saturday. The couple have two sons, Rohit and Rohan, and a daughter, Seema, who lives in their village.
