Handwara, July 22: Security has been significantly strengthened across Police District Handwara following the Anantnag incident in which a police personnel was shot dead.
Security forces have launched an intensive area domination and frisking operation across the Handwara Police district, with special nakas established at key locations.
Official sources told Rising Kashmir that hundreds of suspected overground workers, or OGWs, have been detained as part of the ongoing security crackdown.
Security personnel are conducting extensive vehicle checks, frisking commuters, and increasing patrols in sensitive areas to prevent any security lapse.
The heightened vigil is expected to continue across the district as part of preventive security measures. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with security personnel during the ongoing checking and verification drives.
