Silchar: A school student was killed and two others injured after the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in collided with a car on the Dhansiri-Diphu road in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Saturday, police said on Sunday.The three students, all residents of Daldali Mesebdainyah village in Dhansiri, were on their way to attend an Independence Day celebration when the accident occurred.They were rushed to Diphu Medical College and Hospital following the collision. One of the students, a male, sustained serious injuries and was referred to a hospital in Dimapur for advanced treatment.However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment, police said.The two other students, both girls, are currently undergoing treatment at Diphu Medical College and Hospital.Police have started an investigation into the accident and are looking into the circumstances that led to the collision.
