Gurgaon: State council of educational research and training (SCERT) has removed nearly 4,000 outdated e-learning modules from its online platform ahead of the 2026-27 academic session. The exercise followed a three-month review to ensure students receive accurate, updated and syllabus-based study material.The clean-up was carried out through the DIKSHA portal, a national digital platform that provides learning resources for Classes 1 to 12. Officials said the portal contained duplicate files, draft material and topics that were no longer part of the prescribed syllabus. These uploads often created confusion among students and teachers. “By deleting such content, SCERT has made the platform more organised and easier to use,” officials said.Manoj Kaushik, in charge of the educational technology wing at SCERT, said digital learning must remain aligned with classroom teaching. “A team of subject experts is reviewing each subject, removing outdated chapters and adding relevant topics where required. The revised content is being prepared in line with curriculum guidelines to ensure students access only necessary material for their studies and examinations,” he said.The new digital content will be available in audio, video and PDF formats. Video lessons will feature subject experts explaining chapters in simple language, while audio support will help students understand the text. Students will also have the option to mute the audio and read independently. Teams of designers and writers at the institute are finalising the format and structure of the new modules.The content development process will gather pace in April and May, with focus on Mathematics, Science and English, as students in government schools often face difficulties in these subjects. Once uploaded, teachers will be able to share the updated material with their classes in the coming academic session.
