Gurgaon: A 43-year-old ex-serviceman shot himself dead with his licensed pistol at his residence in Sohna on Sunday. Kishan, a resident of Kherla village, worked as a security supervisor at KR Mangalam University after retiring from the armed forces.Police said the incident took place inside a room at his house while his family members were present at home. “He used his own licensed service weapon, which he retained after retirement, to shoot himself,” an officer said. A preliminary inquiry suggested that he was under mental distress due to family disputes, officials said, adding that the exact cause behind the suicide is being examined.Family members rushed him to the hospital after hearing the gunshot, and the hospital authorities alerted the police. A team reached the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem, which will be conducted on Monday.An officer said, “Kishan was survived by his wife and three children — a 20-year-old daughter, an 18-year-old son and a 13-year-old son. No suicide note has been found so far.”In another case, a 28-year-old man allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Gwalpahari village under DLF Phase 1 police station on Saturday evening. Deepak worked at a private company and was working from home on Saturday. Cops said Deepak’s parents went to attend a wedding in the evening, while his sister Neha was at home. Deepak worked on his laptop in 1 room, while his sister was in another part of the house.After some time, Neha found her brother hanging from a ceiling fan. She immediately alerted neighbours, who rushed to the house. They brought him down and took him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
