Shillong: The Centre on Sunday expressed satisfaction over Meghalaya govt’s progress in providing therapeutic services, skill development training, assistive devices and educational support to persons with disabilities (PwDs).Union minister for social justice and empowerment, Virendra Kumar, who is on a three-day tour to the state, visited the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) for skill development, rehabilitation and empowerment of persons with disabilities.

He highlighted that CRCs across the country, along with national institutes, under the department of empowerment of PwDs, have been working extensively to provide rehabilitation, vocational training and therapeutic interventions to ‘divyangjans’.Reiterating the Centre’s commitment to inclusive development, the minister emphasised that empowerment of PwDs was a key priority under the ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ initiative.
