Rohtas district was shaken by a fatal dispute over grass cutting after a 55-year-old man, Lal Bahadur Ram, confronted a village youth for encroaching on his field. The argument escalated into a violent assault, leaving Ram critically injured and dying en route to hospital, sparking grief and tension within the community.

Sasaram: A 55-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death on Sunday morning following a dispute over cutting grass in Arang village under Dinara police station area of Rohtas district.The deceased, Lal Bahadur Ram, son of Mahavir Ram and a resident of the village, had gone to his field early in the morning to cut grass for his cattle. During this time, he noticed a youth from the same village cutting grass in his field. When he objected, an argument broke out between the two. The altercation soon escalated and the accused allegedly assaulted him in the field.

Family members said he sustained serious injuries to the back of his head and chest. The accused fled the spot immediately after the incident. On receiving information, police reached the village, took the body into custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital in Sasaram for post-mortem examination.Lallu Paswan, watchman of Dinara police station, said the dispute took place between two relatives over cutting grass, which led to the violent clash. Lal Bahadur, who was critically injured in the assault, died while being taken to hospital. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family. Police have registered a case and launched further investigation.The incident has created tension and grief in the village, with residents expressing concern over the rising instances of violent disputes in the district.
