Jaipur: After missing two earlier deadlines, construction of the long-pending Sanganer elevated road project will begin on March 5, officials of Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) said Friday. “Recently, we issued the work order for this project and waited for a few clearances. Since all decks are clear for this project, we are going to start the construction work on March 5. The deadline for this project is 30 months,” a JDA official said. Originally planned up to the Chordia Petrol Pump, the elevated road has now been extended to Malpura Gate. The revised cost of the 4.5 km project stands at Rs 240 crore. Under the updated design, the elevated corridor will have four exit ramps — at Chordia Petrol Pump Tiraha, Malpura Gate, Sanganer Railway Overbridge (ROB) and Sanganer Flyover. Entry to the flyover, however, will be available through three ramps — from the Sanganer Flyover side, the Sanganer ROB side and near Chordia Petrol Pump Tiraha. The project is expected to ease traffic for over 2,000 vehicles daily.“Vehicles coming from the Malpura Gate side need to come down near the Chordia Petrol Pump Tiraha to take the elevated road,” another JDA official said.
