Srinagar, Oct 12: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial Vice President and Hazratbal MLA Salman Ali Sagar on Monday said the pace of development in Jammu and Kashmir had picked up following the formation of the elected NC government, with measures being taken to address public grievances and demands on a priority basis.
Sagar was speaking at a special meeting of Block Hazratbal held at Nawa-e-Subha, where party functionaries reviewed organisational activities, upcoming programmes, public issues and ongoing developmental works in the constituency.
Details of development works undertaken under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and the CAPEX budget were also presented during the meeting.
Sagar said projects of public importance would be identified and prioritised to address people’s difficulties and ensure the delivery of essential services at their doorsteps.
He said the elected government was committed to meeting public expectations, resolving grievances and aligning development initiatives with the needs of the people.
The MLA urged party functionaries and workers to maintain close contact with residents and actively convey their issues and demands to the concerned authorities for timely redressal.
Emphasising the importance of grassroots organisation, Sagar said a political party’s strength lay in its close association with the people.
He added that strengthening the National Conference’s public standing and trust required party workers to remain accessible to people and stand by them in times of both joy and sorrow.
