Ludhiana: The Punjab govt has approved the construction of a new sub-tehsil complex at Sahnewal, earmarking a little more than ₹1,064 lakh for the administrative project.State minister and Sahnewal MLA, Hardeep Singh Mundian, announced the funding, noting that the modern facility is designed to decentralise public services and provide a one-stop hub for regional residents. The new complex aims to end the long-standing requirement for local citizens to travel into Ludhiana city for routine bureaucratic tasks. By bringing services closer to home, the govt expects to streamline the processing of revenue records, land registrations, and other essential administrative filings, significantly reducing the commute for thousands of people in the surrounding rural areas. In addition to improving public convenience, minister Mundian emphasised that the project will bolster state revenue through more efficient collection of taxes and fees. The facility will provide a well-planned workspace for the official machinery, which is expected to result in faster disposal of paperwork and enhanced overall workplace efficiency for civil servants.Ultimately, the investment is being framed as a major boost for the Sahnewal constituency. By modernizing the local infrastructure, the govt aims to enhance the ease of governance and ensure that the delivery of public services matches the growing needs of the region.
