Ludhiana: In the murder case of a 55-year-old farmer from Jandi village in Sidhwan Bet, the Ludhiana rural police have arrested the man’s wife who, according to police, was the mastermind of the killing. It is alleged that the woman made her son kill the farmer with the help of his aides over a property dispute.The victim, Harjinder Singh, was found murdered at his home on March 17. It was Harjinder’s second marriage to the accused woman Taranjit Kaur. The couple has a son from this marriage named Jaskar Singh. The police had already arrested Jaskarn in this murder case. The police revealed that due to the property dispute, Taranjit and Jaskarn were living separately from Harjinder. When neighbours did not see any movement at Harjinder’s house, they informed his brother, who entered the house and found Harjinder dead with stabbing injuries.Station house officer at Sidhwan Bet Police Station, sub-inspector Hemraj Singh, said that the victim, Harjinder, was stabbed to death by Jaskarn and his two aides, Gurpreet Singh and Dharminder Singh, in the wee hours of March 17. They killed Harjinder in his sleep. The police arrested Jaskaran, and during the interrogation he confessed that his mother, Taranjit, was the main conspirator.The SI added, the probe reveals that Taranjit and Jaskarn planned the murder a few days ago and about 10 days ago they left the house and started living at their relative’s house in Barnala, as a part of the conspiracy, so they could kill Harjinder. Even on the death of Harjinder, Taranjit and Jaskaran came to mourn.According to the information, Harjinder’s first wife, Sarabjit Kaur, died in 2003. Harjinder and Sarabjot have a son, Harkamal Singh, who lives abroad. Later on, Harjinder Singh solemnised a second marriage with Taranjit Kaur4.
