Varanasi: As part of the initiative launched by Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust to exchange gifts with temples on the occasion of Mahashivratri, a total of 63 temples sent prasad, worshipped clothes, holy water, flower garlands, sandalwood and other devotional offerings to Lord Vishwanath.Trust CEO Vishwa Bhushan Mishra said the initiative was undertaken to give concrete expression to the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and to bind the entire Sanatan community in one spiritual thread. He described the exchange as an effort to transform devotion into a shared cultural bond that transcends geography.From Tamil Nadu alone, offerings were received from several prominent temples, including Shri Ratnagiriswara, Shri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy, Arulmigu Bhoominath Ishwarar, Arulmigu Kashi Vishwanathar Gedilam River, Arulmigu Sabanayagar Keerapalayam and others. Major religious institutions such as Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan (Mathura), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (Jammu and Kashmir), Shri Kedarnath (Uttarakhand), Dwarkadhish Temple (Gujarat), Nathdwara Temple (Rajasthan), and Lalbaugcha Raja and Shri Siddhivinayak from Mumbai also participated. International temples from Malaysia and Sri Lanka sent devotional offerings, highlighting the global reach of Sanatan traditions. Several prominent Kashi temples, including Kaal Bhairav, Annapurna, Vishalakshi, Kamakhya and Vindhyavasini, were also part of the exchange. The gifts, comprising sacred water, worshipped flowers, clothes and ritual materials, were described as living symbols of spiritual unity. The Temple Trust also sent return gifts to all participating temples, establishing the initiative as an enduring emotional, cultural and spiritual bridge connecting pilgrimage centres across the world.
