Srinagar, Sep 30: Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, is all set to witness a major event ‘Run for Unity’ Kashmir Marathon-2026 on Thursday with a large number of participants including VIPs expected to participate in the event.

The marathon will be organised from Police Golf Course Lake View to Duck Park and back, with a number of VIPs and participants expected to attend the event.

In view of the “Run for Unity” Kashmir Marathon-2026, scheduled to be held on October 1 from 6 am to 11 am, the Srinagar Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory, stating that the traffic movement on Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat up to Habba Kadal will remain restricted from 6 am to 11 am.

Traffic coming from R.M. Bagh towards Gupkar and Lalit will be diverted towards Badri Dal Gate for onward movement. No traffic, except participants, will be allowed on Gupkar Road till the conclusion of the event.

Motorists travelling towards Nishat, Shalimar and Harwan have been advised to use the alternate route from Dalgate-Rainawari-Hazratbal-Zakura-Burzahama-Tailbal-Chandpora-Shalimar route instead of Boulevard Road.

Similarly, motorists travelling from Harwan-Shalimar-Nishat and adjoining areas towards Lal Chowk have been advised to take the Shalimar-Chandpora-Tailbal-Burzahama-Zakura-Chowk route instead of Nishat-Boulevard Road axis.

Those travelling from Gulab Bagh-Zakura-Naseembagh-Habbak and adjoining areas have been advised to use Habbak-Dargah-Rainawari route to reach Lal Chowk instead of Foreshore Road.

The Traffic Police has advised participants to park their vehicles only at designated parking places and avoid roadside parking. Wrongly parked vehicles will be towed.

Emergency vehicles will be allowed to take the shortest route, while citizens requiring assistance have been asked to contact the Traffic Police Control Room at 103.

All participants have been directed to park their vehicles at Zabarwan Park and Botanical Garden.
