Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday transferred Rs 1,835 crore to over 1.25 crore beneficiaries as the 38th instalment of the state government’s flagship Ladli Behna Yojana.

Addressing a programme at Lahar in Bhind district, Yadav said the state government was committed to women’s empowerment in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and described the Ladli Behna Yojana as a “revolutionary” initiative.

Under the scheme, Rs 1500 monthly is given to women as financial assistance.

“The government is working for the welfare of women, youth, farmers and the poor. The Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva would be launched soon to improve public transport facilities across the state,” he said while highlighting ongoing development initiatives in the Gwalior-Chambal region.

Yadav also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 56 development works costing Rs 322 crore in Bhind district. These include newly constructed buildings of four Sandipani schools, and announced expansion of postgraduate courses at the government college in Lahar.
