Prayagraj: Continuing its drive against drink & drive, pressure horns and violation of traffic norms, the Pratapgarh police on Saturday night carried out a special checking drive at Kotila Akhtiyari toll plaza on Prayagraj-Lucknow highway and challaned over 71 vehicles on different charges and realised fine to the tune of Rs 5.10 lakh.The drive was carried out between between 8 pm and 11 pm in a joint intensive checking drive by the Pratapgarh traffic police and the Hathigawan Police.Police teams checked 741 vehicles \ drivers with the help of breath analyzers passing through the toll plaza. Cops said that as many as 28 vehicles were challaned for Rs 10,000 each for using pressure horns, while four vehicles were also challaned for Rs 10,000 for using modified silencers. The police also realised Rs 1.85 lakh from 37 vehicles for violating high security plate. Two vehicles each were challaned for using dense black film.eom
