Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Friday said the state govt remained committed to farmers’ welfare, noting that more than Rs 1,355 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of over 66.76 lakh farmers in Rajasthan under the 22nd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme.Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the latest instalment while addressing a program in Guwahati, Assam, where he also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several development projects. Sharma joined the event virtually from the State Institute of Agricultural Management in Durgapura, Jaipur, and listened to the Prime Minister’s address.Sharma said the Centre and the state govt were working together to strengthen farmer welfare and ensure support schemes reached beneficiaries directly. “Our govt stands firmly with farmers in every situation. Under the Prime Minister’s leadership, farmer welfare policies were designed with a new vision, recognising farmers as a key strength of the nation,” he said.Under the PM-Kisan scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually in three instalments through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to their bank accounts. The scheme aims to provide income support and help farmers meet agricultural and household expenses.The CM also said the state agriculture budget saw a historic 34% increase, reflecting the govt’s focus on strengthening the agriculture sector and supporting farmers.“The Prime Minister has a clear commitment to make India’s farmers prosperous, and several schemes, including PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, were implemented with that goal,” he added.
