Silchar: Suspected heroin valued around Rs 1.10 crore was seized in Cachar and one person arrested, officials said Friday.Cachar additional SP (crime) Rajat Kumar Pal said a team launched an operation on Thursday evening in an area under Lakhipur police station based on inputs.
During the operation, police intercepted a man carrying a backpack and detained him for questioning. On searching the bag, 15 soap cases containing 218g of suspected heroin were recovered.Police also recovered a cell phone from the accused. The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
