Udupi: A rowdy-sheeter from Karkala Town police station in Udupi district, has been arrested under Goonda Act. The accused is Ganesh Poojary, 48, a resident Kowdoor village, Karkala taluk, was arrested following a report submitted by Hariram Shankar, SP, Udupi district. Based on this, the district magistrate and deputy commissioner of Udupi issued the order on Saturday. A total of 11 cases have been registered against him at Karkala Town police station, including four cases of attempt to murder, one robbery case, three assault cases, one unlawful assembly case, one gambling case and another case. Of these, one case has resulted in conviction, seven have ended in acquittal, one is under trial and two are under investigation. The accused has been ordered to be lodged in the central prison at Kalaburagi.
