T’puram: PWD minister P A Mohamed Riyas on Monday said the state govt is implementing development projects that will significantly transform the infrastructure and connectivity of hilly regions.He was speaking after inaugurating the renovation of Vamanapuram–Chittar Road at Bharathannoor Junction through an online function. The road was upgraded using modern construction methods at a cost of Rs 35.75 crore from funds provided by Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB). Riyas said the govt adopted a firm approach towards infrastructure development without compromise, with special attention to improving connectivity in rural and high-range areas. According to him, the road renovation will ease travel difficulties faced by residents of the region and strengthen local development. The minister said Kerala witnessed “revolutionary changes” in infrastructure development over the past decade. As part of national highway expansion, state govt spent Rs 5,580 crore on land acquisition and related works, an unprecedented investment aimed at accelerating highway development. TNN
