Gurgaon: A plan is afoot for a 30-metre-wide road link to Dwarka Expressway in Sector 36A. With town and country planning department (DTCP) having proposed a revision to the sectoral plan — for Sector 36A — the proposed road is expected to enhance connectivity between Sector 36A and Central Peripheral Road (CPR), which forms part of the wider road network linked to the Dwarka Expressway corridor. By providing a direct link to CPR and the Dwarka Expressway network, the corridor could help ease movement between industrial zones and upcoming residential sectors in the Gurgaon-Manesar belt. The area around Sector 36A witnessed rapid real estate development in recent years due to its proximity to key infrastructure projects, including Dwarka Expressway. Officials said according to the revision, the internal road will be developed on land acquired by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation. Urban planning officials said the proposed road “is expected to significantly improve internal connectivity in Sector 36A and nearby areas”.On March 9, a public notice was issued inviting objections and suggestions from residents and stakeholders within 30 days regarding the proposed amendment. Officials clarified that that submissions received after the stipulated period will not be considered during the review process. The notice said that objections and suggestions must be submitted in writing to the senior town planner (Gurgaon) at the office located in Sector 14 HUDA Complex.According to DTCP, the sectoral plan for sectors 36, 36A, 36B and 37B was originally prepared on Dec 20, 2012 and approved on Dec 24, 2012, as part of the Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex-2031 plan. However, officials said the acquisition of land by HSIIDC and the proposal to develop the new internal road “made it necessary to revise the existing sectoral plan”. The department initiated the statutory process to amend the approved layout so that the alignment of the proposed road can be incorporated into the sectoral plan. The state govt already granted in-principle approval for the proposed modification, officials said. As part of the consultation process, DTCP uploaded both the existing approved sectoral plan and the revised draft plan on its official website. Residents, landowners and other stakeholders were advised to review the documents and submit their feedback if they had any objections or suggestions.Improved connectivity is expected to support further urban expansion and facilitate smoother traffic movement in the region. Officials said that after reviewing objections and suggestions received from the public, DTCP will finalise the revised sectoral plan and notify it formally as part of the planning framework for the Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex.
