Ahmedabad: A 20-year-old man was allegedly assaulted with sticks following a road rage flare-up near Naroda GIDC Gate No 1 on Friday evening. The Naroda police registered a complaint against a local restaurant owner, his son, and two unidentified persons in connection with the attackThe complainant, Tirth Brahmbhatt is at present undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital. According to the police, the incident occurred around 7.30pm when Brahmbhatt was returning home on his motorcycle after work.As he approached a restaurant near the GIDC gate, an autorickshaw ahead allegedly braked suddenly and turned, prompting him to apply the brakes. A car following him also stopped abruptly. An argument reportedly broke out between Brahmbhatt and the occupants of the car over his riding.The complainant alleged that the car was driven by Narendra alias Raju Sharma. During the altercation, Sharma’s son Akash and two others allegedly joined him. The group is accused of verbally abusing Brahmbhatt and physically assaulting him. Police said the complainant sustained injuries to the back of his head and near his right eyebrow after being struck with sticks. Naroda police initiated a probe and recorded statements.
