An overwhelming surge on digital booking platforms and IVRS lines resulted in prolonged waiting times and lines at local distribution centers. Several users experienced system glitches and the disappointment of undelivered cylinders, even after receiving notifications, leading to widespread irritation among the community.

Patna: A recent surge in domestic LPG cylinder bookings led to temporary challenges for households trying to secure timely refills in Patna. Many residents reported difficulties accessing online platforms, IVRS phone systems and apps due to high traffic volumes, prompting longer waits or visits to local distribution agencies.The increased demand resulted in noticeable queues at several gas outlets across the city, as consumers preferred in-person follow-ups when digital channels slowed down or became unresponsive. Agency staff handled the extra footfall while managing regular deliveries. Officials urged residents to book only when genuinely required, avoid unnecessary early refills and use available digital channels or the helpline for updates.

Birendra Kumar, a resident of Kadamkuan, said he had tried to book an LPG refill for the last three days, but the online booking system either did not work or a “server down” message flashed on the screen on repeated attempts. “No one is taking the call at the gas agency. Most of the time, the number is switched off,” he said.Many who had already placed orders said they received messages stating that the cylinder had been delivered to their address even though they did not receive it. Sharing his customer ID and booking details, Ayush Anand wrote on X that he booked LPG on March 11 but still did not get the cylinder. “I received a message on Saturday that the LPG refill (booking number 42511) was delivered, but no one came and no delivery attempt was made,” he said.Amarnath Singh, who also faced a technical glitch while booking, said, “The LPG booking number is not working since the last few days. The administration should stop claiming that everything is normal.”Facing a similar problem, Jyoti Kumar complained that the online LPG cylinder booking system had totally stopped or was suspended, including SMS and missed calls. “The Indane Oil app is down, and officials of LPG say there is no problem. Whom do we contact for the same?” he said.Anand Kumar of Gola Road said he booked the cylinder about five days back but it had not been delivered yet. “I called the gas agency, and they told me to wait for another week as they were clearing the backlogs first. Finally, I went to the gas agency at Jagdeopath and, after waiting in the queue for four hours, I got the refilled cylinder,” he said.
