Karthika Valakumaresan, Director – Legal and Secretarial, Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd, said the JSA Boardroom Connect Chennai Edition provided an engaging platform to discuss the evolving needs of India’s manufacturing sector, including the impact of artificial intelligence and the importance of compliance.
Speaking on the sidelines of the roundtable, Valakumaresan said the discussion offered diverse perspectives on what the manufacturing sector needs to improve, what is already working well and what needs to be sustained.
“It was one of the panels we all had, especially sharing perspectives about what we need from the manufacturing point of view, what needs to improve, what is already good and which needs to be maintained,” she said.
Valakumaresan said AI emerged as a key area of discussion, particularly around the challenges it could create for businesses and the issues organisations need to anticipate.
“All the panellists spoke a lot about AI and the kind of issues AI is going to bring and what we should be looking at. That has been a very engaging discussion,” she said.
She also highlighted the continuing importance of addressing challenges in India’s manufacturing ecosystem, noting that companies are increasingly placing greater emphasis on compliance.
“India has been a manufacturing hub for quite some time, and we all know the issues happening in the manufacturing area so far. I think we keep avoiding the solutions on that one together. I’m sure companies are taking a lot of pride in being compliant nowadays,” Valakumaresan said.
Calling the session an enjoyable and valuable experience, she added that the discussion offered several takeaways that would be useful in her professional role.
