Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State AIDS Control Society, in association with the district medical office, will organise a ‘Red Run’ marathon for college students in the district on Thursday.Students aged between 17 and 24 from colleges, professional institutions, ITIs and polytechnic colleges can participate in the event. The marathon will begin at 7.30am from the KSEB Junction at Chackai and conclude at Shanghumugham Park.Participants must produce their college identity cards and proof of age. Those without identity cards should carry a certificate issued by their college authorities.The winners in the men’s and women’s categories will receive cash prizes of Rs 5,000, Rs 4,000 and Rs 3,000 for the first, second and third positions respectively. The top three finishers will also qualify to participate in the state-level competition.Interested students should register by 11am on Tuesday by sending their details to iecbccreporttvm@gmail.com, the district medical officer said.
