Chennai: Firefighters are continuing search operations for the 30-year-old Reserve Bank of India employee who jumped into the Adyar River from Kotturpuram Bridge on Wednesday night. Kotturpuram police have registered a case and launched an inquiry. Police said S Mohankumar, who lived in the Reserve Bank staff quarters in KK Nagar, had invested ₹60 lakh in online share trading, including ₹30 lakh borrowed from a bank and another ₹30 lakh borrowed from friends. He incurred heavy losses and had been under financial stress. Police said Mohankumar went to Kotturpuram Bridge on Wednesday night and jumped into the river. Rescue teams searched the river through the night and resumed the operation on Thursday morning using boats.
