Ranchi: Thousands of Christian devotees came together to celebrate Palm Sunday, commemorating the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. The city witnessed a vibrant blend of faith, reflection and joy, as prayers, hymns and processions filled the air with a sense of spiritual renewal.At Loyola Ground, devotees gathered in large numbers for the traditional blessing of palm branches, symbolising peace and hope. Led by Archbishop Vincent Aind, the ceremony set the tone for a day rooted in humility and devotion. “Palm Sunday reminds us to embrace faith with humility and carry forward the message of love and compassion in our daily lives,” Aind said.The faithful then moved in a solemn yet spirited procession towards St Mary’s Cathedral church, singing hymns and offering prayers. “There is a sense of peace and belonging when we walk together like this. It strengthens our faith,” said Joseph Toppo, a participant.The celebrations continued with a Holy Mass at the cathedral, where messages of sacrifice, unity and hope resonated among the congregation. Father Anand David Khalkho emphasised the deeper meaning of the day, saying, “Palm Sunday is a reminder that faith is not just about rituals, but about living with kindness, forgiveness and trust in God.”
