Amravati: Navneet Rana, the BJP leader and former MP from Amravati, on Tuesday shared an emotional message on social media after being denied a Rajya Sabha nomination, signalling resilience amid mounting speculation over her political future. In a brief but poignant post, Rana wrote, “Sangharsha karna mere liye nai baat nahin hain, mai kisi bhi mod se nayi shuruwat kar sakti hun” (Struggle is not new to me, I can start afresh from any point), a line that quickly drew reactions from supporters and party workers. Her backers had been confident of her nomination to the Upper House, but the BJP’s decision not to field her has triggered disappointment among her supporters. The 2019 Lok Sabha election winner had joined the BJP ahead of the 2024 elections, despite resistance from sections of local leaders and activists.Rana’s aggressive Hindutva stance and her sharp attacks on former CM Uddhav Thackeray had strengthened her profile within the BJP. However, her defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections, coupled with reported internal party friction, is believed to have weighed against her prospects.BJP’s move to field Dr Anil Bonde from Amravati for the Rajya Sabha has also set off political chatter in the region. Rana’s supporters claim internal party equations and her differences with some senior BJP leaders may have cost her the nomination. While Rana has not elaborated on her next steps, her message has fuelled speculation that she may recalibrate her political strategy in the coming months.
