JAIPUR: The Election Commission Saturday released the final electoral roll following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process covering 199 of 200 assembly constituencies in Rajasthan, excluding the Anta constituency in Baran. The final list includes 5.15 crore voters, with 31.36 lakh (5.7%) names removed from the state’s electoral rolls during the SIR process that began in Oct last year. The names of more than two lakh voters were deleted in Jodhpur, with the highest number of deletions in the district reported in former chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s Sardarpura constituency. The lowest number of deletions in Jodhpur were recorded in Osian.Of the 5.15 crore electors in the final roll, 2.69 crore are male, 2.45 crore are female, and 562 are third gender electors.
Between the draft and final publication of the electoral roll, 2.4 lakh names were deleted while 12.9 lakh were added, resulting in a net increase of 10.48 lakh electors (2.08%), according to an official statement. Districts with the highest increase in voters include Jaipur (3.45%), Phalodi (3.22%), Bharatpur (2.78%), Sirohi (2.72%) and Bundi (2.71%).The SIR process also recorded an improvement in the state’s gender ratio by two points, increasing from 909 at the time of draft publication to 911 at final publication. Significant improvements were recorded in Jaipur (7 points), Kota (6 points), and Ajmer, Sirohi, Dungarpur, Bundi, Jhalawar and Baran (4 points each).The number of young electors (18–19 years age group) across the state increased by 4.35 lakh (0.82%), with Jaipur registering the highest rise at 1.3%. Other districts with notable increases in young voters were Barmer (1.26%), Bharatpur (1.22%), Phalodi (1.18%) and Bundi (1.09%).Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan said electors can verify their names in the electoral roll online through the official websites of the chief electoral officer, Rajasthan, or the Election Commission of India via EPIC search. The final electoral roll for Anta Assembly Constituency will be issued on March 12.
