Jhunjhunu: The annual eight day Lakkhi Phalgun fair of Baba Shyam began at Khatushyamji in Sikar Saturday, drawing thousands of devotees.For the festival, the district administration made arrangements by dividing the area into nine sectors. Meanwhile, the Shri Shyam Temple committee has made arrangements for drinking water, snacks, shade, for the visiting devotees.

Temple committee treasurer Ravi Singh Chauhan said, “Baba Shyam was decorated beautifully with white and blue flowers as devotees offered darshan to him.”Temple committee secretary Manvendra Singh Chauhan said that the temple was decorated with flowers in the style of the 12 Jyotirlingas which was done by 120 Bengali artisans. “The Ringas–Khatushyamji route has been declared a no-vehicle zone to ensure devotees’ safety and crowd control,” he said.SP Praveen Nayak Nunawat and fair magistrate Monika Samour are continuously reviewing the security and administrative arrangements across the fair area. Officials said VIP darshan has been completely prohibited this year to ensure equal access for all devotees.
